Lovin' my Mom!

I'm sorry it's taking me so long to post. I saw this poem and it spoke my feelings for me:

Dear Mom

by Anonymous

Dear Mom, I said a prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
For blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.

I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
For the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.

And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
And I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be

I LOVE YOU MAMA!!

Submission by Brad

Photo taken in Zion National Park last Friday

"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God"
Elder Orson F. Whitney

To Mom,   I love you with all my heart.                 Brad

Royal Robbins ROCK CLIMBING BOOTS

PHOTO TAKEN NOVEMBER 8, 2011

When I was 15 or 16 I loved rock climbing. I told my Mom about the blue boots with red laces called Royal Robins after a famous rock climber in Yosemite. I wanted those boots so bad. All of the climbers had them back in those days. They weren't cheap.  80 or 90 dollars as I can remember. I loved and still love everything about climbing. My birthday came and there in the box were the blue boots. It was one of my best birthdays ever.

Thanks Mom.  I love you with all of my heart

Me, with my new Royal Robbins rock climbing boots.
Jeff, preparing to leave on his mission very soon.

Being with Grandma - Post by Sierra

Every time that I get to spend with Grandma is so enjoyable! This summer me and Azure went to her organ lesson with her. It was so much fun to just spend time with her. She also always tells me stories of her life and I love hearing them. Her and Grandpa came for Thanksgiving last year and I loved sharing that time with them. She cracks me up EVERY time that I'm with her and has the most joyful spirit. Whenever we visit she says, "Now I'm not with you guys a lot, so we're going to go shopping and I am going to buy you whatever you want." Of course that's not the reason that I love her, but it definitely makes me happy! (: She loves seeing her family happy and is a great hostess. There are so many more AMAZING traits about Grandma, but I think it would take up everyone elses space to post! (:
I love you Grandma! <3

The Temple (posted by Denalee)

A year or so ago each time I came for a business trip and stayed with Mom & Dad, Mom and I would take a couple of hours and go to the temple.

The last time we went was my first trip to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. SO beautiful!

I love my time at the temple with Mom.

I love Grandma! Post by Sierra

In this picture, Grandma saw how Azure put a piece of paper on their picture. The word-bubble from Grandma's mouth in the photo of her and Grandpa says something like, "Azure and Sierra are my favorite grandchildren!' (and a little bit more) (:
A few months ago, me, Azure, and Grandma went to go and get Blizzards from Dairy Queen. Grandpa's blue stick-shift truck was parked in the drive-way, so Grandma decided to drive it. She had told us she haden't driven it for a while but she would be fine. We got into the truck and she tried turning on the car...but for some reason she couldn't get it to start. This was the beginning of our little adventure. As soon as she realized how to start it, we were off. We got to the stop-light and stopped. The light then turned green. The truck being as old as it is, did not want to go...well atleast very fast. Cars started honking and we started panicking. Grandma began saying "Let's go! Let's go!"with real emotion. Her head was down by the wheel and she was concentrated, while smiling of course, on getting us going. We laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed about that! (: We got to Dairy Queen safely, enjoyed our ice cream (the second day we had enjoyed it that week), and hoped that we would return home in one piece. ;) We did get home safely and laughed about it all that night. I cherish this memory with Grandma because we became closer and got to see the silly and youthful side of her. (Even though she always acts like she's our age..which I love!) I'll ALWAYS remember this and laugh about it often...in fact, I was laughing while I was writing this! (Az walked in and asked what I was laughing about, because I was actually laughing out loud!) (: I love you soooo much Grandma!

West Jordan PTA

When I was in elementary school I could always count on my Mom being involved in all my activities.
She was always ready to help.
I could also count on her being to my Baseball Games and cheering rather we won or lost.
Thank for all you have done for me and my family.
Jeff

I needed to talk to my Mom! By Brad

Photo taken today - Nov 6th, 2011

I remember when I was 15 years old I went on the National Jamboree to Farragut State Park Boy Scout facility up in Idaho. We were gone for 2 weeks and the first week was spent touring up through Montana and Southern Alberta.  I had never been away from home for so long and I got quite home sick. I was with Danny Jensen and the rest of the boys on the bus were rowdy and wild. When we got to the Jamboree there were tens of thousands of scouts there and as I wandered through the exhibits and activities I got this terrible pang of homesickness. I needed to talk to my Mom. I remember finding the phones. There were about 50 phones in a line and I couldn’t figure out how to call home.  I can’t remember if I didn’t have the correct change to get the phone going or what the problem was but I was distraught. Eventually I figured it out and when I finally heard your voice and talked to you I was relieved and then went on and finished the rest of the Jamboree with no problems. Looking back on that jamboree, that was my most poignant memory.

Who is that lovely senorita?

Why I love Mom! From Brad

Taken today November 5th, 2011

I remember when I was in the sixth grade and you and Jeff came to see me in the school play.  The year before that I had a leading role as the comedian of the play and my sixth grade year I was simply in the chorus. My ego was bruised and on the way out of the school in the darkness of the sixth grade hall I broke down and can remember burying my face in your lap as I sobbed. I don’t remember what you said to me or even if you did say anything to me but within a short time I was renewed and we went off on our way. You always made me feel good about myself and I always knew that your love was unconditional.       November 5, 2011

I love you with all of my heart!     Brad

I was kind of a comedian in the play.
